Lightweight Manufacturing of Automotive Parts

Abstract

In this paper, some material developments and its demands in sheet metal forming for automotive industry will be overviewed. It is not easy to match and meet good performance, low consumption, low emission and high safety with comfort simultaneously, only by applying conventional materials and processes. Due to these factors and needs, continuous material and technological developments in sheet metal forming are required.
