The purpose of this investigation is to contribute to the understanding of the determinants of political participation on Facebook. Based on the civic voluntarism model, it was possible to verify, through multiple regressions, that political attitudes, emotions and recruitment efforts influence the political use of Facebook. On the contrary, the availability of resources does not constitute a significant predictor. Additionally, the mobilizing effect of emotions changes according to individual levels of political efficacy.
