Abstract

The research of balance and posture is very important and significant, especially for preparation of appropriate rehabilitation strategies. An example would be exercises targeting the elderly population to reduce the risk of falls. This paper investigates the design and developmental process of an application used to study the visual influence on human balance. The application Corridor was developed in a multi-sensory virtual reality environment with a six degrees of freedom platform. A case study using this application that provided initial and promising results is also discussed.
