Places are subjective and historical

Abstract

Like Issue C1, Issue C6 has a positive and critical form. In its positive form, its point is that subjectivity, personal experience and history play an important role in the dynamics of places. This part of C6 is self-evident and does not need testing. The critical form of C6, however, does need to be addressed. It basically argues that, while scholars involved in the study of place know that history and subjectivity play an important role in health, they ignore this type of research, opting instead for quantitative analysis.
