Abstract

The stratigraphical distribution of the Silurian and earliest Devonian ostracodes in sections of the northern Timan, and Chernov and Chernyshev uplifts in the Timan-northern Ural region is presented. The ostracode successions across the Silurian-Devonian boundary are similar in the Timan-northern Ural region and on Novaya Zemlya. The majority of the previously established Homerian-Lochkovian ostracode biozones have now been recognized in these areas. Ostracode biostratigraphy for the middle Llandovery to middle Wenlock time period in northeastern European Russia is discussed.
