Abstract

With the emergence of the HMM-synthesis paradigm, producing natural, expressive prosody has become viable in speech synthesis. This paper describes the development of rule-based prominence prediction model for Finnish Text-to-Speech system, based on deep syntactic analysis and discourse structure. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
