Abstract

The main topic of this chapter is to understand the role of metropolitan issues in EU policies and thereby to situate metropolitan regions in the European multilevel polity from a supranational point of view. In this chapter on the European context, the overall research question concerning the European dimension of metropolitan policies is reversed into exploring the extent to which we can find a metropolitan dimension in European policies.
