The objective of this research was apply adaptability and yield stability methods and to compare association among methods by identify promising common bean advanced lines for cultivation in Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. For this, was realized the analyses of grain yield data of the 17 common bean advanced lines from 10 trials of Use and Cultivation Value during the biennium 2008 and 2009. Adaptability and yield stability estimates were obtained by Eberhart e Russel, Cruz et al., Lin e Binns modified by Carneiro and for effects and multiplicative interaction analyses (AMMI). It was also estimated the association among the methods by evaluating the Spearman linear correlation. The associations among the methods showed Spearman correlation coefficients between 0.47 and 0.66 denote that the methods were not concord in the identify common bean advanced lines with adaptability and yield stability. The Cruz et al. and AMMI methods showed no significant correlation and your use are recommended set. The SM 0707, SM 1207 and CHP 98-59 advanced lines showed high grain yield and yield stability and they are promising for cultivation in Rio Grande do Sul State.
