Abstract

This paper describes the hardware implementation of the Chamberlin filter and how its structure can be mapped on Xilinx FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) for musical applications. Furthermore, it shows the comparison of the performance of the Chamberlin filter with other types of digital filter for different audio inputs. Finally, the structure of the Chamberlin Filter has been implemented in C code to check if high-level synthesis leads to further improvements in system optimization.
