Abstract

We have investigated the optical response of Ni(dmg)2 thin film by pump-probe spectroscopy under excitation of the metal-to-ligand charge transfer(MLCT) absorption band. Almost the same photo-induced spectral change was observed as in the case of the resonant excitation to 1-D exciton absorption in Pt(dmg)2. It rises up within 200fs. This shows that the MLCT 'molecular ' excited state relaxes to 1-D intermolecular exciton state in such a short time.
