Abstract

According to the Brazilian National Association of Public Transportation (ANTP), in 2018, about 28% of the urban mobility in the Brazilian cities was made by public transportation, especially buses. For that reason, the supply market of this segment is constantly innovated. The objective of this work is to present a Technological Roadmap (TRM) for electric buses in Brazil, focusing on the adoption of national components in a timeframe of 15 years, from 2018 to 2033. The approach applied in this study is based on wide documentary research of the available data in scientific databases, interaction with specialists in this field, morphological analyses, decision matrices, and Delphi research to develop scenarios that allowed confirming and qualifying the estimate of the technologies adoption. The results pointed out that most of the components are already nationalized, bringing many benefits, as such availability, price, and other positive aspects, which make it possible to improve and qualify the system as a whole. Besides, this work approaches basic concepts about electric buses, ITS, and IIS to strengthen the perspective of the sector concerning economic development within a sustainable and intelligent ecosystem.
