PV System without Charge Controller for Grid-Connected and Stand-Alone Operation

Abstract

The design conditions, especially a possible solar energy surplus, leading to the idea to omit the charge controller are presented. The operation of the system with the grid acting as a variable load for managing the batterstatus is explained and as a result of the first measurements some proposals for further improvements are pointed out.
