Abstract

Agricultural policy in the EU, better known as the Common Agricultural Policy, is a policy area that has been decided upon at a supranational (EU) level for some years. When the European Community was established in 1958, it was agreed that a common market would be created. This common market would also comprise agricultural products. At that time all member states were protecting their markets for agricultural products. To end this situation it was necessary that the member states created a Common Agricultural Policy.
