This Reply discusses four issues concerning 'Modeling Ecological Constraints on Tropical Forest Management: A Comment.' First, the Comment ignores the original article's emphasis on ecological characteristics of tropical forest management. Second, two of the three structural biases toward preservation which the Comment asserts in the articles model actually behave in the opposite direction. Third, the Comment contains confusion about specific parameter values and the use of numerical sensitivity analysis. Last, the Comment's proposed extensions to the original model do not overturn the original article's premise about the importance of spatial intertemporal modeling in tropical forest management.
