Abstract

This conversation is conducted for the purpose of exploring how quantum physics and its implications resonate with the spiritual wisdom of religious traditions, particularly the wisdom of Buddhism regarding the nature of consciousness, self, and reality, and what the resonances between Buddhism and quantum physics mean for education and educational purposes. Firstly, the concepts of truth in Buddhism and the ways these concepts resonate with the notions of spirituality and spiritual truth found in the educational literature are explored. Secondly, by means of exploring various phenomena, theories and philosophies of quantum physics and their corresponding concepts in Buddhism, this dialogue demonstrates how these two branches of thoughts resonate with each other. Finally, on the basis of this deepened and extended understanding of spirituality, spiritual truth, the whole spiritual path, and the relationship between education and truth, the implications of this dialogue for education and educational purposes are explored.
