Abstract

This paper is a summary of an invited talk presented at the 12th ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed computing in August 1993. The talk gave a brief introduction to the Ubiquitious Computing vision, described some ongoing projects at Xerox PARC related to Ubiquitous Computing, and discussed some selected areas in which future research will be necessary to make Ubiquitous Computing technically and socially viable.
