Abstract

The development of creativity is one of the main premises of music education. However, music teachers, often trained within a traditional education, find it difficult to carry out creative proposals in the music classroom. The main objective of this study is to identify the factors involved in the development of the competences related to creativity in the initial training of Primary Education teachers. For this purpose, the experience of a new music teacher has been collected through an in-depth interview, analyzing the information collected through the content analysis method. The results reflect the importance of reinforcing the creative aspects in music education and in the initial training of music teachers, offering future teachers spaces where they can confidently put into practice creative proposals that contribute to their personal enrichment and encourage their autonomy.
