Abstract

The interaction of two identical point vortices in an unsteady shear and strain field is studied in a two-dimensional incompressible flow. Their equilibria and stability are computed. Their resonant interaction with the forcing is analyzed. Transition to chaos is presented. © 2008 Springer.
