Abstract

All awards may be located through the Subject Index (page xi). Numbers listed in the Subject Index refer to the code numbers at the head of entries in the main text. To ascertain which numbers are applicable, readers should consult the Index Codes below , and then tum to the Subject Index and make a note of all relevant numbers. The Subject Index is divided into two sections: All Subjects which lists those awards not restricted to specific subject areas; Individual Subjects which lists those awards restr icted to specific sub ject areas. Please note that many subjects in the Individual Subjects Index are subd ivided. In these cases the General subheading always comes first, followed by the other subheadings in alphabetical order.
