Peranan rumah makan Padang terhadap eksistensi budaya tenis Minangkabau di Pacitan, Jawa Timur

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Padang restaurants on the existence of Minang ethnic culture in Pacitan. The existence of Padang restaurants has had a major impact on the popularity of the Minang ethnic group in Pacitan. The Pacitan people know Minang culture from Padang cuisine which has characteristics that other cuisines do not have. The Pacitan community began to seek information about the Minang ethnic group. This paper uses historical research methods, by reconstructing the past through testing and critical analysis of recordings and relics of the past. Broadly speaking, historical research is divided into four stages, heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The result of this study indicates that Padang restaurants in Pacitan, in addition to providing food menus with distinctive flavors, play a role in introducing the Minangkabau ethnic culture in the region.
