The author describes how a baby might be perceived as violent: his symptoms are felt by his parents as a true attack. The therapist, therefore has to give meaning to this seemingly apparent violence which originates from unconscious projections linked to the past. These projections are sometimes rapidly unveiled but may seem mysterious for a while. therapist and family in a common search, observing the baby and its interactions often alleviate the symptoms. Therapeutic intervention in these cases is a clinical emergency, It serves as a way of preventing violent reactions to the symptoms on the part of the parents.
