Abstract

This paper is a continuation of one published in this Journal (1914, vol. 59) on “The Development and Morphology of the Mandibular and Hyoid Muscles of Mammals.” It deals with the structure of the pharyngeal, laryngeal, and hypo-branchial muscles of Ornithorhynchus and Echidna, with the development of these muscles in Dasyurus viverrinus and some other Marsupials, in the pig and rabbit. The last few pages contain a summary of the similarities and differences between the cranial muscles of Monotremes, Marsupials; and Eutheria.
