Abstract

In this paper, an analysis of the appropriateness of academic digital platform by undergraduates through the valuation of social networks (Facebook, Tuenti, Twitter) is proposed. This analysis shows the potential utility of these academic platforms in various areas, such as downloads, supplements, contents, functions and learning efficiency. The study was conducted among students of various disciplines and faculties of the University of A Coruna (Spain). The results show that the use of social networks has a significant influence on the various benefits of using digital platforms in educational environments. Specifically, access to course contents without barriers of time and space and educational functions offered (blogs, chats, tests, etc.) stand out as the greatest advantages. This allows to state that the introduction of new technologies in higher education contributes greatly to improving the learning efficiency.
