Abstract

Since its discovery in 2012, ferroptosis has been well characterized as an iron-dependent regulated form of cell death caused by the accumulation of lipidbased reactive oxygen species. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response is one of the interesting biological events in ferroptosis. Recent studies reveal that the ferroptotic agent-induced ER stress response plays an important role in the crosstalk between ferroptosis and apoptosis. This chapter presents the current state of knowledge on the ferroptotic agent-induced ER stress response and its role in the crosstalk between ferroptosis and other types of cell death.
