Abstract

Pervasive applications present stringent requirements that make their deployment especially challenging. The unknown and fluctuating environment in which pervasive applications are executed makes traditional approaches not suitable. In addition, the current trend to build applications out of separated components and services makes the deployment process inherently continuous and dynamic. In the last years, we developed several industrial pervasive platforms and applications. From these experiences, we identified ten requirements vital to support the continuous deployment of pervasive systems. In this paper we present these requirements and the associated challenges. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2014.
