Abstract

Possible approaches to identifying and mapping environmental conflicts, including those related to the creation and functioning of human-made reservoirs, and unsustainable use of water and natural resources, are considered in the case study of the Tsimlyansk water reservoir. The map developed for this region reflects the distribution of major “normative” and “cross-purpose” types of environmental conflicts within the upper part of the reservoir.
