Abstract

A probe-fed comb-shaped wideband implantable microstrip patch antenna operates at MICS band (403–405 MHz), 433.1–434.8, 868–868.6, 902.8–928.0 MHz, and 2.4–2.48 GHz (ISM band). An antenna with dimension (12 × 7.5 × 0.25) mm is designed in meander shape and comb shape for biomedical application and is aimed to be utilized in human tissue such as skin and muscles as boundaries. Antenna characteristics within the tissue like VSWR, return loss, radiation efficiency, and radiation pattern with their comparative simulated results are presented.
