Abstract

This chapter describes complications of intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and their management. Radiation necrosis prevention, diagnosis, and management are discussed in the first part of the chapter followed by more specific discussion of potential complications related to management of brain metastases, intracranial meningiomas, vestibular schwannomas, and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). Diagnostic and management algorithms are provided whenever sufficient evidence or published clinical experience permits.
