Abstract

This chapter describes and assesses the scholarship system operating in Saudi Arabia and, in particular, critically assesses the development of the King Abdullah Scholarship Program – arguably the most comprehensive scholarship programme ever supported by a nation state. This chapter also highlights the challenges that Saudi students confront during their studies abroad.
