Abstract

Educational and research software for one-degree-of-freedom planar mechanisms has been developed by experts in kinematics and dynamics of mechanisms. This software uses classical MMT knowledge for its analysis module. However, the dimensional synthesis module incorporates a new technique based on Evolutionary Algorithms. WinMecC has a graphical user interface which is intuitive, flexible, powerful as well as easy to use and understand, allowing students and researchers to build their mechanisms virtually in an interactive way, making modifications in real time. The computer program calculates the unknown kinematic and dynamic variables and shows the results by means of numerical results and graphic visualizations.
