Diagnostic and therapeutic imaging of children poses particular challenges. First it is vital to limit the radiation dose. The younger the child, the more radiosensitive the bone marrow and the greater the potential harm. In addition children have to be persuaded to cooperate to obtain adequate imaging studies and particular radiographic skills are essential [1]. © Springer-Verlag London Limited 2010.
