Abstract

Sustainability has emerged as a key priority within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), fostered by the introduction of the Vision 2030, which seeks to steer the country towards reducing its current environmental impacts and moving towards alternative and greener production processes. This chapter explores the challenges the country may face in its mission to achieve the Vision 2030, by focusing on the luxury fashion industry, which not only has seen an increase in spending and subsequent consumption but is also regarded as being sustainably questionable due to its raw materials. Avenues for future research as well as managerial and policy implications are outlined in the conclusion.
