Abstract

Nowadays, the society demands more and better products and services, and as a result organizations need to count on business strategies in order to provide a way for their employees communicate and fulfil their clients and work mates' expectations more efficiently. This article presents the Hippocrates of Cos Multi-Agent System 1.0 (HdeC-MAS 1.0) a multi-agent system (MAS) based on virtual organizations. The system can access information and services ubiquitously from either land or mobile devices connected to wired or wireless networks. HdeC-MAS 1.0 supports the communication process for the healthcare services of a hospital. This paper presents the results obtained from the implementation of the system and demonstrates the advantages produced by the use of this new technology. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
