Abstract

In this paper, we present an approach for supporting spatial awareness in an intelligent tutoring system, the purpose of which is to train astronauts to operating tasks of a telemanipulator. Our aim is to propose recommendations regarding knowledge structures and cognitive strategies relevant in this context. The spatial awareness is supported through efficient use of animations presenting different tasks. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
