Abstract

A multi-sensor mobile system for people monitoring is described in this paper. The system uses mobile phones to monitor a set of restrictions defined for the users. The effectiveness of the monitoring process is its continuing ability to detect changes on user activities and movements. Monitoring control is possible thanks to a set of agents installed on the mobile phone and server. Agents are responsible of collect the data from phone sensors activating the appropriate alarms by a set of defined rules. The applicability of the system will be illustrated with an example for Alzheimer patient monitoring. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
