Abstract

This research examines the conditions and psychosocial aspects that condition the passage through the university experience in the context of Ecuador, through the design of a questionnaire which has been applied to a sample of Ecuadorian students (n=1391). The evidence of its content validity has been studied through an evaluation of experts (n=30) with the application of the Omega index, and determining its internal consistency (AFE and AFC). Likewise, risk profiles for academic adaptation and success were identified through contingency and segmentation analysis (CHAID). As a result, a valid and reliable instrument has been obtained to know the psychosocial conditions and potential risk situations for the prevention of dropout and academic failure, identifying profiles of greater risk, within which gender, disability, geographical displacement, the reasons for choice and prior expectations.
