Abstract

Despite the proliferation of human rights groups and a growing concern with free expression worldwide, no group is as silent and invisible as the world's widows. Widows fall through the cracks of everyone's agenda. They are silent, invisible. The victims of traditional custom and practice in many parts of the world, and the uncounted legacy of war from Europe to Afghanistan.
