Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To compare the resource utilization, potential adverse affects, post discharge weight gain, neurobehavioral outcomes, psychological stress and emotional well being of parents of preterm infants being discharged earlier versus later, all of whom are fully orally feeding. Subgroup analyses were planned to determine if the potential benefits or adverse effects were affected by receiving home support.
