An examination of the importance of pre-abortion counselling

Abstract

An unwanted pregnancy poses a life crisis for a woman who does not see her way clear to accepting pregnancy, birth or raising a child Crisis intervention is regarded as the obvious model for preabortion counselling. The nature and essence of pre-abortion counselling, the purpose and value of pre-abortion counselling, the after-effects and the meaningfulness of pre-abortion counselling were studied. Pre-abortion counselling can succeed in making the pregnant woman aware of alternatives and enables her to make an informed and responsible decision regarding the termination of her pregnancy.
