Abstract

This paper presents two techniques to integrate and abstract database schemes. These assume the existence of a collection of inter-scheme properties describing semantic relationships holding among input database scheme objects. All transformations performed throughout the integration and abstraction processes are stored in a suitable format and made available for subsequent elaborations.
