UM PROJETO DE PESQUISA “À ESQUERDA”: GILDO MARÇAL BRANDÃO E A INTERPRETAÇÃO MARXISTA DO PENSAMENTO POLÍTICO BRASILEIRO

Abstract

Resumo Este artigo faz uma análise da trajetória intelectual de Gildo Marçal Brandão (1949-2010), com especial dedicação ao projeto temático no qual buscou delinear as linhagens do pensamento político brasileiro. O artigo sustenta, a partir de uma abordagem contextualista, que Gildo construiu uma interpretação marxista das tradições políticas brasileiras, distinta daquelas deixadas por Wanderley Guilherme dos Santos, de pendor nacionalista, e por Bolívar Lamounier, de índole liberal. O artigo também procura desvendar o contexto de produção do projeto de pesquisa de Brandão, apontando suas fontes de inspiração, mas também seus eventuais limites.Abstract This article analyzes the intellectual trajectory of Gildo Marçal Brandão (1949-2010), with emphasis on the thematic project in which he sought to trace the lineages of the Brazilian political thought. For that, it understands that Gildo offers a Marxist interpretation of Brazilian political traditions different from the nationalist one offered by Wanderley Guilherme dos Santos and the liberal one by Bolívar Lamounier. The article also seeks to unravel the production context of Brandão’s research project, naming its sources of inspiration and possible limitations.
