Abstract

One of Professor Yamamoto's important research contributions has been in audio signal processing. His YY filter is a digital-to-analog converter for the playback of an audio file. This tutorial paper begins by reviewing some topics in audio signal processing, including the YY filter. This is followed by a walk-through of some concepts and results in digital signal processing using the framework of linear operators on Hilbert space, a subject pioneered by Professor Yamamoto. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
