This paper is based on documentary research aimed at identifying the conceptual approaches to Physical Education in educational research carried out in Colombia between 1998 and 2012. Analysis was made of the content of research carried out in the context of Physical Education "on what educates or serves to educate". A total of 213 pieces of educational research relating to Physical Education were identified and analyzed with regard to their conceptual perspectives (currents, tendencies, or schools of thought) on Physical Education, the body, and mobility, representing an approach to the constitutive elements of these fields of research. The conclusions reveal the dominance of the Psychomotricity theoretical current and the conceptual perspective defined by sport, a moral educational trend, and the emergence of new epistemic descriptions.
