Based on literature retrospective related to undergraduate employability, the paper had designed the questionnaire. Through the survey of independent institute graduate, application of exploratory factor analysis and means comparison, the paper conducted a quantitative analysis on the components and enhancement mechanism of undergraduate employability. The components of undergraduate employability are subject capacity, personal attributes, communication skill, teamwork ability, innovation and entrepreneurship and career planning capacity. To set appropriate goals and strategies, curriculum design, reasonable arrangement of the system of training, guidance to the students in career choice and development planning and establishment of industry-university cooperation mechanisms are the key factor of enhancement mechanism. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
