Abstract

The article presents the author's views on a study about the association of childhood sexual abuse with mental health problems in a cultural and political framework, published in the July 1998 issue of the journal Psychological Bulletin. It criticizes the meta-analysis technique used in the study. It addresses the lack of common and serious symptoms resulting from sexual abuse. It describes the behavior of most trauma victims.
