Alhough almost all patients who undergo lipoplasty procedures experience satisfactory outcomes with rapid recovery and few complications, misuse of lipoplasty techniques and technology may lead to suboptimal results. In this article, the indications for secondary lipoplasty are outlined, a clinical classification of candidates for secondary lipoplasty is presented, and the benefits and limitations of the approaches to secondary lipoplasty are discussed.
