Abstract

On medium and low frequency position fixing the combination antenna-ship may cause heading dependent additive errors to the measured distances or pseudo-distances. In the hyperbolic mode it is not possible to measure the additive corrections directly because a measurement is essentially the result of the values for a pair of fixed stations. Such a problem can also arise in case of range- range measurements if other unknowns have to be solved. The authors propose to develop the corrections in a Fourier series similar to the classical method of circle calibration for a theodolite. - Authors
