Gynecologic malignancies in the adolescent and young adult female are uncommon, but these cancers can occur throughout the genital tract. Histologic subtypes and biologic behavior differ from their older counterparts and treatment may be age- and disease-specific. Patients with these malignancies also merit special consideration due to the impact of treatment on reproductive potential and function. In addition, vaccination efforts should effectively prevent most cervical cancers.
