in this study we defend the inclusion of the woman question, a movement responding to the misogynistic discourse current during the european middle ages, as content to be studied in secondary education history classes. for this, we have performed a historiographic review to locate a compendium of historical texts belonging to this debate. we offer them as material to discuss gender inequality in the past and present. afterwards, we discussed the potential this subject has for introducing different innovative strategies in the teaching of history, such as the treatment of women as historical subjects, the development of historical thought from disparate perspectives and the promotion of favorable civic awareness on the issue of gender inequality.
