Abstract

The arrival of digital printing caught many in the paper business by surprise. They were not prepared for the demands placed on paper by Xeikon and Indigo digital presses, and more recently the tidal wave of large format inkjets has had them scrambling to keep up with demands for better products and a greater variety of papers. The paper suppliers can now offer a comprehensive selection of papers to meet every conceivable need in both to their credit and a signal that the paper industry believes that digital printing is going to be very important indeed.
